About the Shelter
For over fifty years, the Lynchburg Humane Society has been caring for lost and homeless pets. Already an open admission facility and providing pound services for the city, the Lynchburg Humane Society made the decision to become a no-kill community, a place where all healthy and treatable animals are saved and paced into caring homes by 2015. They achieved that goal in 2013 with a live release rate of 91%. In 2015 they had a live release rate of 94%.
